The Master Instructor designation is a national accreditation that may be earned by
aviation educators and is based on a system of advanced professional standards as well as peer review. It serves a dual purpose. First, those “Teachers of Flight” who are demonstrating an ongoing commitment to excellence, professional growth, and service to the aviation community are publicly identified and recognized. Second, the accreditation sets professional standards to which all aviation educators can aspire.
The designation requires a rigorous process of continuing professional activity and, like a flight instructor certificate, must be renewed biennially. To promote continuous involvement in the aviation community, designees must remain active and renew their designations every 24-calendar months. Unlike one-time awards for past achievements, the Master Instructor designation acknowledges an individual’s continuing professional growth, and involvement in a broad spectrum of aviation endeavors.
Gold Seal Flight Instructors
The CFI Gold Seal Flight Instructor Certificate is one of the most prestigious awards that a flight instructor can receive. The instructor must have trained and recommended at least 10 of his or her students to pass their practical flight exam with at least 80% of them passing on the first attempt. That is all within 24 months!
Receiving this award means that an instructor has demonstrated the highest level of communication, understanding and knowledge with their student.
National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI)
As part of Paragon Flight’s commitment of continuously educating our team and improving our standards, we are a proud member of the National Association of Flight Instructors.
Founded in 1967, NAFI is dedicated exclusively to raising and maintaining the professional standing of the flight instructor in the aviation community.
NAFI is not only the national association that serves the full spectrum of the flight instructor community, but also maintains the finest benefits package available for everyone from the independent instructor to those teaching at flight schools. NAFI recognizes that flight instructors are truly the “teachers of flight” as well as the front line for “quality control” in our aviation world.
The FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam)
Paragon is part of the FAA FAASTeam Program. The FAASTeam was developed by the FAA in order to promote pilot safety. We help ongoing pilot safety by encouraging our students to participate in the FAA WINGS – Pilot Proficiency Program.
The WINGS – Pilot Proficiency Program is designed to help you build an educational curriculum suitable for your unique flight requirements. The program encourages you to continue your aviation educational pursuits and requires training, review, and flight proficiency in the Areas of Operation found in current Practical Test Standards (PTS) that correspond with the leading accident causal factors.
